Zangi groups include several features designed to make group communication easier and more organized:

• Edit and delete messages: Edit messages after sending them, or delete them for yourself or for everyone.
• Instant search: Find messages quickly, including by contact or date.
• Replies and forwarding: Reply to specific messages or forward them to keep conversations clear and organized.
• File sharing: Send and receive files of different types, up to 400 MB per file. These features make Zangi groups useful for everyday conversations, work discussions, family chats, and larger group communication.

On iPhone

1. Open Chats.
2. Tap the + button in the top-right corner.
3. Tap Create Group.
4. Select the Zangi contacts you want to add.
5. Enter a group name and, if you want, add a group photo.
6. Tap Create.

On Android

1. Open Chats.
2. Tap the pencil icon in the bottom-right corner.
3. Tap Create Group.
4. Select the Zangi contacts you want to add.
5. Enter a group name and, if you want, add a group photo.
6. Tap the check mark in the top-right corner.

A Zangi group can have up to 1,000 members.

You can change a group’s name, photo, or description if you are the Creator/Owner or Admin of the group.

1. Open the group you created.
2. Tap the group name at the top of the chat.
3. Tap Edit in the top-right corner on iPhone, or the pencil icon on Android.
4. Update the group name, photo, or description.
5. Tap Done on iPhone or the check mark on Android to save your changes.

1. Open the group.
2. Tap the group name at the top of the chat.
3. Tap Add Members.
4. Select the people you want to add from your Zangi contacts.
5. Tap the check mark on Android or Done on iPhone to confirm.

On iPhone

1. Open the group.
2. Tap the group name at the top of the chat.
3. Tap Edit.
4. Tap the red minus icon next to the member you want to remove.
5. Tap Delete on the right to confirm. On Android
6. Open the group.
7. Tap the group name at the top of the chat.
8. Press and hold the member you want to remove.
9. Tap Remove to confirm.

Only the group owner/creator and admins can remove members from a group. Who can add new members depends on the group settings:

• If the group creator allows regular members to add people, they can add new members.
• If this option is disabled, only the group owner/creator and admins can add members.

When someone is removed from a group, the removed person is notified. A small system message also appears in the group showing that one member removed another member. The removed person is no longer a member of the group and cannot send or receive new messages in that group.

When someone adds you to a group, you receive a notification that you have been added. A small system message also appears in the group chat showing who added you to the group.

To add someone to a group, you need their Zangi Private Number. Without it, you cannot add them.

Only the group owner/creator can manage group admins.

1. Open the group.
2. Tap the group name at the top.
3. Open Group Settings.
4. Tap Admins.
5. From there, you can select individual members to make them admins or allow all members to be admins.
6. To remove someone as an admin, deselect that member from the admin list.

A group admin can:

• Add new members
• Remove members
• Edit the group name
• Change the group photo

If the group owner wants to leave the group, they must first choose another member to become the new group owner. The group owner cannot leave until ownership has been transferred.

Other group members can see your:

• Name
• Profile photo
• Zangi Private Number
• Bio
• Premium subscription status

Zangi does not support group video calls yet. Group calls are currently available as voice calls only.

Other group members can contact you directly because your Zangi Private Number is visible to members of the group.

Blocking someone does not affect shared group chats. You can still see the messages they send in the group, and they can still see the messages you send there. Blocking only prevents direct messages and calls between you.

On iPhone

1. Open the group.
2. Tap the group name at the top.
3. Tap Mute.
4. Choose how long you want to mute the group. To unmute the group, tap Mute again and confirm that you want to turn notifications back on.

On Android

1. Open the group.
2. Tap the group name at the top.
3. Tap Mute Notifications.
4. Choose whether you want to mute Messages, Calls, or Both.
5. Choose how long you want to mute them. To unmute the group, tap Mute Notifications again and confirm that you want to turn notifications back on.

Zangi uses check marks to show the message status:

• One check mark means the message was delivered and group members were notified if they have notifications enabled.
• Two check marks mean that at least one group member has read the message. Two check marks do not mean that every member of the group has read it.

On iPhone

1. Open the group.
2. Tap the group name at the top.
3. Tap Leave Group.
4. Choose whether you want to keep or delete the group chat history.

On Android

1. Open the group.
2. Tap the group name at the top.
3. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
4. Tap Leave Group.
5. Choose whether you want to keep or delete the group chat history.

You can rejoin a group if someone who has permission to add members adds you back to the group.

1. Open the group.
2. Tap the group name at the top.
3. Tap Group Settings.
4. Tap Delete Group.
5. Confirm that you want to delete the group.

Only the group owner/creator or an admin can start a group call. To start a group call:

1. Open the group.
2. Tap the phone icon in the top-right corner. To join an active group call, open the group and tap Join.
